Welcome to Children's Services guide to the department's extensive nonfiction collection!
If you have any issues navigating this guide or have questions about specific topics feel free to contact Children's Services or "Ask a Librarian."
Good luck, and happy reading!
In the children's collection alone, there are over 20,000 books to choose from! Since this number is so large, the department has two locations where its books are found, the Children's Room and Stack Level 1.
The Children's Room
The Children's Room of the Fall River Public Library is located on the Lower Level through the large wooden door. The Room is split into three distinct sections Picturebooks/board books (Grades pre-k - early grade 3), Fiction Chapter Books/Graphic Novels (Grades 3-7), and Nonfiction (All Grades). The picturebook section has a small play area for children to enjoy with a LEGO table and various toy dinosaurs, and there are chairs and tables in the nonfiction section available for children to work at or read!
Stack Level 1
Stack Level 1 is a room located right down the hall from the Children's Room that holds all children's materials that do not fit on the shelves in the main room. This is where you can find duplicates of popular titles, older books, and our extensive holiday selection! All patrons are invited to browse for books in this stack level!
All shelves used for Children's Nonfiction are clearly labeled by topic on the lower right hand corner!
